Visit to RHS Hyde Hall

On 19th June many of our members enjoyed a trip to RHS Hyde Hall near Chelmsford. The weather was very kind to us and our driver, Graham from Farnham Coaches, got us through the traffic on the M25 to arrive in plenty of time to enjoy a coffee before our guided tour of the Gardens at 12pm.

We were split into 2 groups and our guide Chris who claimed not be a gardener proved to be an extremely knowledgeable fellow about horticulture. He went to great lengths to explain the history of the site and how the RHS intend to invest further funds to restore Hyde Hall and its grounds back to its former glory.

After an enjoyable lunch, we were free to further explore the gardens and make that last minute necessary purchase before embarking on our return journey which allowed us to complete a full circuit of the M25 in one day to arrive back in Yateley at approx. 5.40pm.

If you have never visited this garden it is well worthy of a visit in the future. Please take a moment to enjoy the slideshow.
